0Cr25Al5 Resistance Strip – High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance & Longevity for Electric Heating Elements

Description

0Cr25Al5 resistance strip is a premium iron-chromium-aluminum (Fe-Cr-Al) alloy designed for high-temperature electric heating applications, offering exceptional oxidation resistance, mechanical strength, and stable electrical resistivity. With a composition of 23–26% chromium, 4.5–6.5% aluminum, and balanced iron, this alloy forms a dense alumina (Al₂O₃) surface layer at temperatures up to 1,400°C (2,552°F), protecting against oxidation, carburization, and sulfurization in aggressive atmospheres. Its low carbon content (≤0.08%) and controlled silicon (≤1.0%) minimize embrittlement, ensuring durability in cyclic heating applications such as industrial furnaces, kilns, and household heating systems.

Certified to ASTM B603 and DIN 17470 standards, 0Cr25Al5 strip achieves a tensile strength of 600–750 MPa and surface load capacity up to 2.5 W/cm², making it ideal for heating elements in air, vacuum, or inert gas environments. The alloy’s high electrical resistivity (1.45 μΩ·m) and low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) ensure consistent power output and energy efficiency, outperforming conventional nickel-chromium alloys in longevity and cost-effectiveness.

Q&A

Q1: Can 0Cr25Al5 strips operate in sulfur-rich atmospheres?
A: Yes. The alumina layer resists sulfur penetration, making it suitable for sulfur-containing environments up to 1,200°C.

Q2: What is the maximum surface temperature for continuous use?
A: 1,400°C in intermittent use and 1,250°C for continuous operation, depending on environmental conditions.

Q3: Does 0Cr25Al5 require pre-oxidation treatment before installation?
A: Pre-oxidation at 800–1,000°C for 1–2 hours enhances the protective alumina layer, extending service life.
