Inconel X‑750 Plates: High-Temperature Strength, Corrosion Resistance, Precipitation-Hardenable Alloy

Product Overview

Inconel X‑750 Plates (UNS N07750) are precipitation‑hardening nickel‑chromium–iron alloys specifically formulated to deliver outstanding mechanical strength, oxidation resistance, and stress‑rupture performance in temperatures up to 700 °C. By solution‑annealing at ~980 °C followed by a two‑step aging cycle (565 °C × 16 h + 704 °C × 4 h), a uniform dispersion of γ′ precipitates (Ni₃(Al,Ti)) is achieved. This microstructure elevates yield strength above 830 MPa and tensile strength beyond 1 030 MPa, while maintaining elongation ≥ 15 % and fracture toughness.

The balanced alloying of 70–75 % Ni, 14–17 % Cr, plus Ti, Al, and minor Zr and B, gives X‑750 Plates exceptional resistance to chloride stress‑corrosion cracking, pitting, and oxidation in both oxidizing and mildly reducing atmospheres. Their weldability by TIG/GTAW or electron‑beam—followed by post‑weld aging—allows fabrication of large panels or complex assemblies without sacrificing performance. Standard plate sizes range from 2 mm to 50 mm thickness, widths up to 2 m, and lengths to customer specification, with mill‑annealed, pickled, or electropolished finishes. Custom heat‑treat cycles are available to optimize creep‑rupture life, fatigue strength, or corrosion resistance for markets in South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What distinguishes X‑750 Plates in high‑temperature service?
The γ′ precipitate microstructure imparts superior creep‑rupture resistance and fatigue life up to 700 °C, while chromium content ensures oxidation protection.

Q2: Can X‑750 Plates be welded without loss of properties?
Yes—TIG/GTAW and electron‑beam welding are standard; a post‑weld aging treatment fully restores precipitation‑hardening and mechanical strength.

Q3: Are custom thicknesses and finishes available?
Absolutely. Standard thicknesses span 2–50 mm, widths up to 2 m; finishes include mill‑annealed, pickled, and electropolished. Custom heat‑treat cycles can optimize specific properties.
